BIO
Anna Moench is a playwright and screenwriter whose awards include fellowships from the New York Foundation of the Arts, the Jerome Foundation, and the Van Lier Foundation, the Paul Stephen Lim Playwriting Award from the Kennedy Center, BETC’s Generations Award, East West Players’ 2042: See Change Award, the Jerome Foundation’s 2009 Travel Grant. She has received two EST/Sloan Commissions as well as commissions from the Japanese American National Museum in collaboration with East West Players, NYU Tisch, 2G, Keen Teens, and Red Fern. Her plays have been produced throughout the country and internationally, at venues including WalkerSpace, the Old Vic, 59E59, Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Flea, Cohesion Theatre Company, Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company, NYU Tisch, and Indiana University of PA. Anna is an alumna of the Emerging Writers Group at The Public Theater, Youngblood at Ensemble Studio Theatre, and The Jam at New Georges. She is currently a third-year MFA playwright at UCSD and was named one of Hollywood’s top 100 new writers on the 2016 Young and Hungry List.
