BIO
Originally from upstate NY, CHRIS COATS moved to Los Angeles after attending college in Santa Barbara and began working extensively in film and television industry. In 2012, he joined the roster of The Masses, a production company started by the late Heath Ledger. With The Masses, Chris directed numerous music videos which were featured on acclaimed music websites such as Pitchfork, The Fader, and Filter. In the branded arena, he’s created content for burlesque superstar, Dita Von Teese, the design-duo The Haas Brothers, and lifestyle brands such as Adidas, Elle and Esquire among others. In 2015, Chris edited Dogwalker, a short film by director Kimberly Sherman which premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. His own short film, Good Boy, recently had its west coast premiere in June 2017 at NewFilmmakers LA LGBT film showcase. Currently, Chris is developing his first feature, The Sleepwalker’s Travel Guide, to shoot in the summer of 2018.
