Mary-Margaret Kunze - Writer / Producer
BIO
Mary-Margaret Kunze is a writer, television and film producer – and proud to say that was always her plan.
A self-described nerd, Mary-Margaret studied Dramaturgy at the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, graduating with both college and university honors in 2012. In the following years, she worked for Emmy-award winning casting director Cami Patton on Justified (FX), About a Boy (NBC), and Minority Report (FOX), in addition to casting independent films (Carry Me, Daddy, Odious).
She joined Marvel Television as a creative executive in 2016. In the following years she worked as a creative producer on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC), Cloak & Dagger (Freeform/ABC Signature), Daredevil (Netflix), and The Runaways (Hulu/Fake Empire). In 2021 she was a non-writing executive producer on A House on the Bayou (Epix) and The Thing About Pam (NBC/Dateline/Big Picture Co), both with Blumhouse Television. She has partnered with showrunners at every level of experience, shot on frozen rooftops and in scorching swamps, and can talk anyone out of their trailer. Her TV experience spans network, premium, and streaming formats. She is a dual US/EU citizen who always has her bags packed.
In 2022, Mary-Margaret was a Producer on her frequent creative partner Jade Halley Bartlett’s debut feature Miller’s Girl (Lionsgate/Good Universe/Point Grey). In that capacity, she was involved from the screenplay’s first reading, across the development and cast attachment process, during the entirety of prep and shooting, and through to the final day of editing. Mary-Margaret and Jade have also partnered on writing two forthcoming feature films, Bad Boy (an adaptation of the Kristen Roupenian short story of the same name) and Safe Return Doubtful (an original musical about Ernest Shackleton and the Endurance expedition).
